Who might succeed CFPB Director Rohit Chopra?

The American Banker’s Kate Berry reports in What the election means for the future of the CFPB (behind paywall but available on Lexis). If Trump wins, Berry reports speculation that Keith Noreika, Todd Zywicki, or Brian Johnson could be his pick to lead the CFPB. Something the article doesn’t note:  those folks all have experience with consumer financial protection and Trump’s nominee the first time around was Kathy Kraninger, who had experience in government but not in consumer financial protection, so it could again be a choice who is not on anyone’s radar. If Harris wins, she would be unlikely to move on from Chopra, but if he chooses to move, perhaps to another position in a Harris administration, Berry mentions Katie Porter and Seth Frotman as possibilities.
