The settlement between the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and class action plaintiffs has led to predictions of a fundamentally changed real estate market industry and the elimination of abnormally high commission rates in the U.S. compared to other countries. Will that happen? This half-day forum will explore the underlying market dynamics that led to the class action antitrust suits, how the real estate industry likely will respond to the NAR settlement, and what regulators need to do to ensure the promise of the NAR settlement is realized.
