UncategorizedABC News 20/20’s CarMax Investigation Posted on January 6, 2015 by Jeff Sovern (HT: Rosemary Shahan). Might be worth assigning to students learning about fraud and UDAP statutes. Jeff Sovern Can You Suggest Skills Exercises for Consumer Law Courses? Can the government intercept your calls and texts in public without a warrant?

I purchased an SUV from CarMax, and have replaced EVERYTHING in it since. Just had to put a new transmission in. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is BRAND NEW now. DO NOT PURCHASE a car from CarMax!!! I started having issues 8 days after purchase. Took it in and the battery was bad (My SUV just shut off as I was sitting at an intersection) front mounts broke, driver and passenger CV axle were cracked, etc. The put other old cheap stuff in, b/c it was within the 30 day warranty window, and all that junk broke within a month. A friend told me she watched the 20/20 episode with her husband, and they said they never will purchase a car from there. Going to check out the episode now.
